For years, starting a blog was an idea that quietly lingered in my heart.
Every time it surfaced, though, fear quickly followed.
What will people think?
What do I really have to offer?
I’m not even a good writer.
And just like that, I would shut the idea down.
Year after year, the thought returned—not because I believed I had an extraordinary story to tell, but because I longed for a creative outlet. Still, fear would raise its ugly head, and I would justify ignoring that inner voice with excuses rooted in my own perceived inadequacies.
Each time, I let fear win.
The Trap of “Justified” Disobedience
Have you ever heard of justified disobedience?
It’s when you create reasonable explanations for why you can’t obey what God is asking you to do.
That was me.
There was always a “reasonable” excuse. I call it reasonable because, in my eyes, it truly was. I was stuck in my own limited perspective. After all, God knew my weaknesses—surely He would understand my hesitation.
But the truth?
I was more concerned with what I thought others believed about me than with what God had spoken over me.
And here’s something I’ve come to realize:
What God has said about you is far greater than what anyone else can say.
And His word over your life is final.
When My “Why” Became Bigger Than Me
The idea to create this platform never went away. In fact, it grew stronger.
Over time, the reason behind it became clearer. This wasn’t about telling my story for attention. It wasn’t about proving anything.
It was about creating a space where, through my experiences—no matter how small or insignificant I might think they are—someone could find freedom. Someone could come to know Christ.
That realization changed everything.
When your why is centered only on you, it rarely carries enough power to overcome fear.
But when your why is bigger than you, the strength to move forward becomes unstoppable.
The Search for Identity
Growing up, I longed to identify with someone who had experienced the struggles I faced.
I wanted to know:
- How did they navigate it?
- How did they survive it?
- How did they come out whole on the other side?
But I couldn’t find anyone I could truly relate to.
That longing was the seed that first birthed the idea of starting a blog.
Still, it wasn’t enough to push me into action. I needed something deeper—something that would sustain the vision even when my strength failed.
After years of searching, I found it.
I was searching for identity and purpose.
And I found both in Jesus.
In Him, I found:
- The joy I had craved
- The peace I had been searching for
- The freedom to be who I was called to be—unapologetically
And discovering the joy of helping others find that same freedom became more than enough reason to begin—and to keep going.
The Enemy’s Oldest Trick
Over time, I’ve realized something important:
The enemy is not as creative as we give him credit for.
He simply recycles the same tactics.
One of his greatest strategies is isolation—convincing you that:
- You are the only one who has ever struggled this way
- No one understands
- There is no solution
He exaggerates the problem and minimizes the power of God.
He clouds your mind so you cannot see the possibilities around you.
But when you discover that you are not alone—that others have walked similar paths and overcome—something shifts.
You gain strength.
You gain hope.
You gain perspective.
There is power in shared testimony.
There is power in numbers.
And this is my why.
Why This Platform Exists
As you can probably tell, the agenda here is Christ.
I have come too far to deny who He is and what He has done for me.
This space exists to:
- Share real experiences
- Break the lie of isolation
- Point hearts toward identity and freedom in Jesus
If even one person finds hope here, it will be worth it.
If You’re Reading This…
If there is something in your heart that fear keeps silencing, let this be your sign:
Your obedience may be connected to someone else’s breakthrough.
Don’t let fear win.
